About the Event
The Edmonton Philippine International Centre (EPIC) and B'nai Brith Canada have partnered to celebrate May Jewish Heritage Month and June Filipino Heritage Month. This would be a fellowship night between the two communities, honouring Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon and his efforts in saving Jews during World War II.
Highlight of the evening will be the screening of the documentary “Rescue in the Philippines: Refuge from the Holocaust”. The documentary, narrated by Liev Schreiber, tells the story of how the former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon saved Jews at the beginning of World War 2 while others around the world turned their backs on the Jews.
This free event will be on May 28, 2023, Sunday, 5:00 pm at the Edmonton Philippine International Centre at 10104 32 Avenue NW, Edmonton. Both Kosher and Filipino refreshments will be served.
