Our Story

The Edmonton Philippine International Centre (EPIC) is a non-profit organization focused on operating a facility and administering programs that will build community, share resources and celebrate culture, that will serve Filipino-Canadians and be shared with the larger Edmonton community and surrounding areas.

EPIC is iconic and symbolic of Filipino culture and heritage reflecting our historical experience, the strengths of the Filipino people, and the rich cultural wealth Filipinos bring to Edmonton and Canada.

EPIC is envisioned to be:

  • a gathering place to make personal and social connections

  • a vibrant space for learning languages, heritage, arts, and sharing of common experience

  • a knowledge hub for activities that inform community members about resources, supports, and opportunities

  • a showcase of Philippine culture and Filipinos' achievements and work in the arts, trades and enterprise

  • a place for celebration, ceremonies, festivals and recognition - to build memories and kinship with the next generations

EPIC benefits both the Filipino community and the larger Edmonton community by:

  • providing affordable rates for community and social events

  • program spaces for community organizations

  • a sense of pride among the Filipinos for a community centre they can call their own

  • space and opportunity to learn and exchange of cultures

  • providing projects, programs and events continuously highlighting diversity and inter-culturalism for our city
